SUMMARY:Thirteenth Biennial Personalist Seminar: Whitehead and Berdyaev
DESCRIPTION:In the 1957 Journal of Religion Charles Hartshorne published an important article “Whitehead and Berdyaev: Is There Tragedy in God?” The Thirteenth Personalist Seminar will center around Alfred N. Whitehead and Nicolas Berdyaev\, with separate days devoted to different aspects of their work. The first day will introduce the group to Whitehead and Berdyaev in their contexts. These discussions will be led by George Lucas. Distinguished Chair in Ethics in the Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership at the U.S. Naval Academy\, Emeritus. Currently Professor of ethics and public policy at the Graduate School of Public Policy at the Naval Postgraduate School and Daniel Dombrowski\, Professor of Philosophy University of Seattle\, Editor\, Process Studies.
